Beautiful British Columbia is like Canada's backyard. Really, you don't have to go far outside your home to see BC, and if you live here with us, then the beauty and vitality of BC is right out back. A road trip is a wonderful way to experience a lot of what our province has to offer, so we've compiled a bit of a list of the most scenic drives in BC--drives that will hopefully become adventures you'll never forget.
It's not about the destination, it's about the journey, and the Sea-to-Sky Highway makes this point better than just about any other journey. This particular highway is a stretch of winding road between Vancouver and Whistler, with deep blue waters on one side, insurmountable mountains on the other, and clear skies ahead.
Tourist attractions are all around, including Shannon Falls Provincial Park, Squamish, Britannia Beach, and the Sea to Sky Gondola, so there's a lot to do during this trip, along with so very much beauty to see, all in less than a day.
Wine country and hot springs resorts... Sound like a vacation to you? This route starts in the Kootenay Rockies and goes through the lakes and vineyards of the Okanagan Valley, then into Canada's only actual desert, and finally into the glaciers of the Rocky Mountains, should you have several days to spend on this road trip.
World-class golf courses and the most scenic hiking and biking trails in Canada are what await you here. And yes, hot springs and wineries too. Just be sure that if you spend the evening drinking, you spend the night in one of the five-star mountain resorts.
We're definitely covering a lot of ground here with these drives, aren't we? The Alaska Highway makes its way onto many people's bucket lists, and should you have a full week available to you, then the The Great Northern Circle Route could be an amazing opportunity. You'll find nature and its critters littered throughout the landscape, and the natural hot springs pool is as inviting as it sounds.
And then there's the Northern Lights, the greatest lightshow on the planet...
